Making the Switch to Sustainable Marketing with Reboard Displays

Imagine this: You’re walking through a shopping centre or a museum and spot a pop-up or a display. It looks stylish and professional, but did you know that most of these displays go straight to landfill when the event is over? Did you know that traditional materials used to produce displays can generate emissions up to ten times higher than alternative substrates now available in Australia.

Re-board, an eco-friendly alternative to traditional materials like MDF (medium-density fibreboard), plays a crucial role. By choosing Re-board for displays, businesses and museums can reduce carbon emissions significantly. They can even achieve something incredible, their displays becoming carbon negative. But what does this all mean, and why does it matter?

Quick and easy way to create structures for display that is carbon negative

What Are Carbon Emissions, and Why Should We Care?

Reducing these emissions is crucial to protecting our environment and Australia has set big goals to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Businesses have an essential role to play in reaching this goal.

How Choosing Reboard Over MDF Can Help

Reboard is a type of recyclable material used for marketing displays, pop-ups, museum displays and other event stands. Compared to MDF, which is often discarded into landfill after use, Re-board is not only lighter and easier to handle, but it can be recycled through normal waster paper streams. Here’s how it makes a difference:

Lower Carbon Footprint

Re-board has a significantly smaller carbon footprint during its production and disposal compared to MDF.

Carbon Negative Potential

With proper recycling, Re-board can reduce more carbon from the environment than it produces, meaning its overall impact on emissions can actually become beneficial.

Real Life Example

In partnership with PIM Group, NEXT Printing created eleven booths/areas for L’Oreal’s annual engagement day. Instead of using MDF, we used Reboard as the main substrate. Had MDF been used, greenhouse gas emissions would have risen by 2,590kg. In contrast, the use of Re-board resulted in a negative carbon footprint of -75kg. Overall, Re-board led to a total CO2e emissions reduction of 2655kg, equivalent to the emissions of a car traveling 11,488km or powering an average Australian household for nearly 56 days.

In order to create a concise message that can easily be understood by the end consumer, we created the following badge that could be used on the display or in a press release.

By taking this approach, brands can share their green story without alienating or confusing their audience.

The above images represent the L’Oreal project where independent scenes were created using self-supporting Re-board structures.

Examples of Sustainable Projects:

Arches are perfect for creating from Reboard. They can be completely self-supporting

Reboard without any print can be used to dramatic effect.

Unlike MDF, we print directly onto Reboard.

In partnership with Vectar Sets we can help create completely realistic scenes with Re-board as the base without the need for MDF, reducing carbon emissions tenfold.

Be Part of the Change

Switching to materials like Reboard isn’t just about ticking a sustainability box; it’s about helping create a greener future while enhancing your brand’s appeal to eco-conscious customers. By choosing environmentally friendly materials and sharing your sustainability efforts in meaningful ways, your business can make a real difference.
