The Challenge

Montblanc approached Next Printing to manage the execution of their 2022 Glacier Campaign across their four boutiques in Sydney and Melbourne. This campaign had previously been installed in Europe and America and involved the production of shopfront wraps, window frosting, acrylic fabrication, lightbox fabric prints and various in-store signage. Specific substrates were requested by Montblanc Head Office with Next Printing sourcing equivalent local materials. Next were also asked to provide Mock-Ups and to re-size and manipulate supplied artwork prior to printing. As a luxury brand Montblanc demanded great attention to detail in all aspects of the project – printing, finishing and installation.

The Solution

Next Printing suggested a removable self-adhesive vinyl with a matt laminate for the façade wrap which covered the entire exterior of the boutique. This would provide the coverage and durability required but would also be easier to remove in 3-4 months’ time (at the conclusion of the campaign). A removable frosting was also used with the glacier motif printed directly, providing a suitably icy effect. In-Store elements were produced on a variety of rigid and roll to roll substrates depending on their purpose and location in-store. Next managed installation of these items at all four boutiques, liaising with Montblanc Head Office, the boutiques themselves and our team of installers in NSW and VIC.

The Execution

Working to a rigid deadline, the signage was printed and shipped to our Victorian installers well ahead of the proposed bump-in date. Both Melbourne and Sydney components were carefully scheduled to be installed outside of trade at all locations to cause as little disruption as possible. The work was completed within the allocated period, with the installers carefully applying the self-adhesive vinyl to the outside of the shopfronts and windows.
